With Love and Joy
This is a mixed media work on canvas. It is one of my more playful pieces that I created in 2021.
I love the colour blue and can't seem to keep from adding it to my paintings in one shade or another; this time the lovely sky blue makes the background.
Media: acrylic, charcoal, paper, and oil pastel.
Size: 24 x 30 inches.
Beacons of Hope
I called this one Beacons of Hope. Should it be beacon I wonder. Well don't we all need more than one hope? Most of my abstracts evolve with my meditation practice and the titles do reflect this.
Media: acrylic, and paper on canvas
Size: 12 x 17 inches.
In Isolation
This was one of the first paintings I created in our lockdown therefore the title. Painted with a palette knife, it is one of my abstract expressionist pieces. I wanted to finish it with the little lines to delineate a building. As you can see isolation has its affect on us in some way or other.
Media: acrylic, and oil pastel on canvas
Size: 24 x 24 inches.
Towards The Light
When I read the Vedantic scriptures, darkness is described as ignorance, whereas light is known as clarity, and proper knowledge.
Media: acrylic on canvas
Size: 24 x 29 inches.
Cactus in Bloom
A little different as it's not pure abstract but I was drawing from my collection of succulents that I keep on my balcony. I find that they give me great pleasure as they grow and also their care takes very little water. Good for the planet!
Media: acrylic and some small decorative found objects on canvas
Size: 15 x 20 inches.
Oorja/Energy
Oorja in Sanskrit means energy and I was learning some teachings of the Vedas when I came across this word and its meaning. As what always happens, whatever is going on in my life gets translated into my paintings. This is a piece that is more raw than others I have done before. I like the way it is very expressive. I hope you do too.
Media: acrylic on canvas
Size: 19 x 33 inches.
